My dissertation explored the impact of neoliberal economic reforms on the moral economy prevailing among rural Jamaicans. I'm currently developing book manuscript based on this research, focusing on transformations in the locally resonant definition of freedom ranging from its foundation in the pre-abolition era. My newest research project now underway investigates circulation and reception of Nigerian and Ghanaian (Nollywood) cinema in rural Jamaica.
